Westlands are now growing, and contract growing, SUPER advanced trees with a specific aim to line Hobart’s growing infrastructure of streets, parks, walks and private or commercial businesses.
These large clear stemmed trees are known globally as CPTED trees. CPTED stands for ‘Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design’
Trees are grown to promote canopy, providing instant dappled shade, whilst displaying a single clear stemmed trunk (2.0-3.5m high) with a strongly developed calliper (trunk thickness). This results in a successful planting project that is out of reach of vandals, along with high canopied trucks, buses and other vehicles.
